I can’t get my hands on the Echo Dots we wanted to buy so that idea has to wait. We have opted for an upgrade to their scooters, some pool floats (a llama and a poo emoji) and calendars.

That squish is hilarious but disturbing in equal measures.

The monsters have been borderline impossible to buy for this year, coupled in with family asking for ideas too. They’ve got toblerones, a Bluetooth speaker each, a Harry Potter oodie (giant wearable blanket hoodie things), some book box sets and some trainers, along with the obligatory socks and undies. I’m not sure whether to look forward to the day where it’s a big a chocolate coins and cold hard cash, or whether I’ll lament the loss of Christmas

My friend has written this book with lots of things to make in it. It’s more machines/science stuff than crafts but uses stuff you should have lying around the house rather than needing to buy supplies.

I’m not sure this warrants a thread, but would any of your recommend some good board games for kids? My sister has requested something for 5-year old niece that the whole family can play. She suggested something that could be acted out (kids charades?) rather than lots reading but my mind has gone blank and I can’t get past Pictionary. Halp!

Guess Who can get complicated for that age in my experience, due to lack of thinking skills. We had to play it with adult support.

Who am I with headbands is popular (like this - https://www.johnlewis.com/john-lewis-pa ... lsrc=aw.ds ) but not really a board game.

Snakes and Ladders? Orchard Toys will have all sorts for that age group.

Moustache Smash is good. We've even been known to play a more violent and sweary version once the children are in bed.

Sneaky Snacky Squirrel! I LOVE this game is much. There is no skill and cute acorns Perfect for 5 year olds. George and Liv still play it
