Wine
Schaar gluten-free crispbreads
President spreadable butter
Unchlorinated frozen chicken for the cat
Olive oil
Gouda & Emmenthal cheese
Godiva chocolate

But we'll all be fucked anyway, so it won't matter. :gloom:

Nothing that I can think of as being urgent. Maybe an extra tin of beans or spaghetti hoops (small size)

I will send gum and nylons.

We are told to always have enough supplies on hand for the household to survive for 72 hours without aid. There is a giant list of things. My daughter is always worried the cats will run out of food.

President spreadable butter is just the best, rosy, isjtbit? And I have no way of stockpiling it (tiny freezer).

This has really tickled me. You'll be able to survive for a whole extra four hours or so on that. ;)

Gosh, how depressing, I hadn't really thought that this could be an actual thing

I am definitely going to get drugs in, tinned tomatoes and rice/pasta/pulses etc and fill the freezer with meat and (is it possible to get nice frozen veg??! I suppose it's better than nothing!). Deli meats and halloumi are good shouts for things with long dates.

I don't think I'll stockpile anything particularly, but I've proven before I can feed us for at least a month to six weeks on the contents of our freezer and pantry, which is probably longer than most anyway.

I'm the same as Angus but since you can't stockpile insulin there isn't much point stockpiling anything else. I'll probably fill my freezer and get some extra tins.

I’m totally sad not to have my prepping style basement right now. We prepared a few days water and food in case of power cuts caused by falling trees, derechos, snowmageddon - it happened a lot.

Back up phone chargers were my number one priority then  but in this case I’ll join you on olive oil, Parmesan, halloumi, WF rosemary crackers, wine, chocolate, pasta, gnocchi and tinned beans and tomatoes.

I'm going to start stockpiling because I think not only will there be disruptions to the supply chain but also there will be panic buying come March.

I've actually created a list already:
Coffee beans
Flour
Sugar
Salt
Dried pasta
Dried lentils
Oil
Tinned pulses
Tinned tomatoes
Peanut butter
Paracetamol
Frozen veg
Frozen convenience food (eg Quorn sausages)
Long life plant milk

The cat food is a good idea - I'm also worried about Teddy's medicine. He's on a lot of medicine (4 types in fact) as well as a special diet. Not to mention my own medication. If I have a stroke because I can't get my blood pressure medication I won't be happy. :verm:

I'm not thinking about the medication implications. Like Bean and TC, J needs insulin and we can't stockpile that.

You can blanch and freeze your own veg.

I was thinking about pulses today. Meat and fish here are plentiful and local but I wonder about pricing going up if they can't export or production being reduced. I think I'll do a Costco run and freeze after Xmas when the freezer is run down. Plus making sure the oil tank is topped up.

It has crossed my mind it'll be like living in Baku and I survived that.

That’s a really good list, Bel.

Some frozen veg is fine - peas obvs, but also broad beans and edamame.

I like those frozen berries too (apart from ones with strawberries in) and frozen mango is ok too.

I hadn't given it a single thought. The NHS will only give you a month's supply of any regular medication, so there's not much I can do about that. The cats will have to live on the local wildlife if it all goes tits up (rabbits, rodents, partridges and pheasants). I'd better stock up on worming tablets, and I tend to keep a fair bit of dried food in for them.

I'm now slightly panicking. On the plus size, I could do with losing a few stone.

Paracetamol and antihistamine. Yeah, I know I live in Ireland, but we always stockpile these things when we're in the UK as they're cheaper in the supermarkets, so ...

I should probably put a bag of dog food in. I'm not overly worried, years of living in places of seeing stuff so buying it all and years of being snowed in means I always have 6 weeks of food at all times. But we are lucky with our storage so I know that's not an option most do.

I'm seriously thinking of going abroad for three months from March.
