I once was forced into putting the wheel bin out in pyjamas (Christmas, overflowing) and the shame nearly killed me.

Oh shit I go to the bin in my PJs all the time. Occasionally even to the car. I think its unacceptable outside a 10m radius of the house though.

I put the bin out in the street and I live in a main road. Nobody needs to see me looking like that.

Also I don't wear pants with pyjamas and I feel too vulnerable to be out in them.

This is a benefit of nice loungewear* without patterns etc - I might not look dressed up, but it’s transitional enough for me to go to the garage or the car without (internal) shame. This didn’t help me when I answered the door at 1 pm today with my hair wrapped in a towel though

*Currently wearing my brand new lounge pants from the House of Sainsbury’s

On Christmas Day I went for a walk in the pyjmas my Mum bought me for Christmas. I had a long coat on and they looked like tracksuit bottoms but still. I admit it. I only passed two people and it was dark.

I treated myself to a pair of the NICEST pyjamas at Christmas. I would love someone to see me in them. I might run outside in them just so that they get a good airing.

I am at peace with going out in public without makeup on now, but I feel wrong and hope I won't see anyone if I go to the local PO for 5 minutes wearing my joggers (the PO lady doesn't count as she can't see my bottom half )

I popped out to collect a parcel last week in paint splatter joggers and paint on my face and in my hair. But it wasn’t a dressing gown so it was fine. There was no way I was changing out of decorating clothes just to change back & carry on.

I get this weird feeling of almost pride if I have to go somewhere in proper working clothes, like after spending all day clearing branches and burning them, then having to pop in to the supermarket for milk and bread before going home. --> Look! I have been doing Useful Activities! <--- But going to the shop in my joggers because I'm too lazy to put anything else on when I get off the sofa

I always ask S if I look bad enough in DIY/gardening stuff to make it obvious that's what I've been doing.
