It's not in mine. We can use various methods to request an appointment in advance, and same day is only for urgent.

I know pre COVID and pre telephone appointments many doctors were doing the same day appt thing and there was a lot of criticism of it.

I can get an appointment in advance too, but I usually have to wait around 20-30 minutes to get through on the phone, and then the first available appointment isn't for a few weeks. I wouldn't mind that so much if I could book online but they don't offer that.

My hairdresser was running behind, assured me that she'd be about 15 minutes late starting me. She was actually 30 minutes late and I needed to be home to get ready for this wedding. I was sorely tempted to leave but I'd have still had to wash my hair when I got home and drying it takes ages. Then of course, she rushed through it and kept apologising so in the end, I felt bad :British:
