Re: IWLTS it is 2023
I'm not arguing with any of that assessment. Such a tool.
He basically asked if he could visit before Christmas, collect Bambs from uni and spend some time with her. We usually visit my parents when we do the uni run, but agreed to see them after Christmas instead.
About a week ago, he mentioned picking up a work colleague en route and giving them a lift down here - and would Bambs mind. He has colleagues in Devon, so we thought nothing of it. Colleague mutated into "friend". Friend is female and in her mid 20s. The "lift down" translated as mini break with Bambs playing third wheel.
He's also got a new job and been bragging about how much he earns. If true, it's 10x my current salary - and yet I'm still covering all Bambs' uni costs. I'm not one for wishing bad things on people, but god it's galling.

IWLTS: I think it's weird taking a 14 year old to Lapland for Xmas. I understand why you want to go but surely he's just humouring you?

Oh and he commented on my height and weight. In front of his friend.

That poor kid, Ruby. 14 is the age where you find everything excruciating.

I still have the odd fit of brilliance, even if I am now old Beena.
I am sorry you still have to deal with that fucking prick, I have always believed that dishing him out a good fucking shoeing may not help the situation but it would make people feel a little better.

Kill him. Kill him properly dead. Not a court in the land would blame the perpetrator.
It’s like a normal midlife crisis only with more chandeliers and foreign languages.

 J is my superpower with all this. He reduces anything Little Big Man does to a minor irritation. Bambs absolutely adores him.
Rosy, we've another 3 days to get through, it might happen yet.

IWLTS: do none of you know that you shouldn't park across a dropped kerb?
There is football on at Hampden which always causes parking problems round here. Two of my neighbours have parked across their own driveways as they can't park outside their own houses but you shouldn't really do that as it's illegal to park across a dropped kerb, even when its your own driveway.

Is this to me? We didn't really have much choice! :)) He wasnt given the option of not coming but we did make one day all grown up stuff (me and T took him skiiing whilst the others did younger kid stuff, drinking Baileys secretly with his mum etc) and let him duck out of all the Santa things! Plus he loves snow and missing school for a holiday! I'm totally paranoid about this! Plus, he was 15! AAGH

Omg. No. It's a woman I know. For clarity, she doesn't have a younger child with her. It's just her and her son having a weird romantic Lapland weekend.Luce wrote: ↑Mon Dec 18, 2023 10:38 amIs this to me?
