I have them too. Mine are on my dining table and the corner of the kitchen bench. My two children favour the kitchen bench. It drives MrE crazy.

The piles just move around! Yeah, I know it's an ADHD thing, which is why I try not to get upset about it. But every so often it just becomes a bit too much for me because my brain really craves order. It's almost certainly because I'm in spring cleaning mode right now and feeling extra militant about everything getting decluttered and cleaned.

Everyone is actually tidying and decluttering this afternoon now, even though I haven't said anything. :uhh:

Oh, God! Mine does that too. We call it the "coral reef". It just keeps growing and any attempt at clearing the table is met with excuses that almost everything is going to be needed. Imminently. :(

It's probably less annoying if it's your own doom piles. There is some choice in the matter anyway, and maybe even some logic. Like something being needed soon. :)) Even when it starts gathering dust.

I have doom boxes! Fucking everywhere! But I do know exactly what’s in them and would prefer them not to be touched, thank you very much!

Oh gosh I couldn’t permit anything being left out, I am too uptight about everything being tidy

The chaps have to tidy up before every round of food :)) and A has a draw and a cupboard I sweep things into. The garage and shed is probably an absolute shit show but it’s not my domain.

My mom does this. Little piles of paperwork dotted about the living room. I have the side of the sofa doom.

I got one of those coffee tables with a lid and storage entirely so I could sweep R's *stuff* into it. :))

I have stuff piles but they're not out, they're hidden, because if I can't see them, they don't exist. :frolic:

My idiot has just been incredibly rude to me on the phone after he called me from his work trip about having been caught speeding in the hire car he had.

They’ve sent through the notice of prosecution form thing for speeding, but just the letter not the form. They’ve also sent a receipt for an admin charge of £60 (I assume they mean this to be an invoice?). So do we now sit tight & wait for the police to contact him directly about the speeding?

He was all stressy and banging on at me to phone them and I was trying to say I wasn’t sure what they’d tell me seeing as I’m not him and I’m also incredibly busy at work tomorrow but he was well nasty and hung up, so. Apparently I am always like this. :ella:

Slash the tyres on his car to ensure he never has this problem at home. :helpfulandreasonable:

That's infuriating Pip. The answer to your question is, yes. The hire firm will share his details with the police and they'll contact him direct. I had this with LBH&F, after I hired a car to take my sister down to the IOW for a final visit to mum's house. I took the route I'd always taken, but found that they'd since made it 'residents only' and got a fine. The hire firm sent me a letter telling me to expect a penalty notice from the council.

In my case, LBH&F did indeed send me a penalty notice but they addressed it to me with just my village name and county, no townland, no Eircode, and no mention that it was in Ireland. It was a miracle it found me at all - especially as there are at least four other people with the same name to whom the address could have applied. So, I ignored it completely, and have heard nothing since.
