My friend just sent me a text to say our local Waitrose is out of loo roll again.

Yep, and apparently the shelves at one of the Bristol Aldis were stripped bare.

Here we go again.

Someone on my FB says this locally here too. No bog roll, no pasta.

Although, tbf, I bulk bought a load of canned goods last week to re-start my brexit stash so maybe everyone is getting the same idea.

I'm glad I got my 6 monthly supply of loo rolls on Sunday!

I’ve only just been able to get a Sainsburys slot again in the last couple of weeks. London has been fine (I’ve been booking my mum’s) but there’s been hardly anything here.

Ours went back to nearly normal. Not same day, but next day.

I was in Tesco yesterday and the lady on the till was saying it went mental last week just before they locked us back in (northumberland) and that they were expecting similar and had seen people stockpiling already. I just did my usual shop but I’m quite glad i got it out of the way.

What is it with the loo roll?!?! I didn’t understand that last time it’s not like COVID gives you chronic diarrhoea?!

Plus they aren’t going to shut the shops, pubs and restaurants maybe (but not likely given the lunchtime news) so why the drama?!

One of my uncle’s Covid symptoms was awful diarrhoea, but I don’t think that’s why people stockpile it.

I think people are realising that they could have to quarantine for two weeks, and are only just realising that it might be wise to always have two weeks worth of stuff in case (or at least a plan for accessing supplies).

Plus Brexit.

And bog roll is bulky and difficult to substitute with other things so it’s a visual reminder/reassurance that one is protected against shortages.

Fortunately I did a WGaC order recently that should last for ages.
It’s like a normal midlife crisis only with more chandeliers and foreign languages.

Gastric upsets are a symptom, but it’s definitely more for isolation. I could live without milk for a bit, but not loo roll.

Oh I get maybe buy an extra pack, but this was people filling entire trollies with it.

I think I just get mad at people stockpiling in general, did no one learn last time that if you don’t stockpile there shouldn’t be as many shortages? Fair enough buy ONE extra packet of pasta or some such but people going shopping in groups and filling multiple trollies with things is very selfish on those who can’t afford to do it/can’t carry it etc.

Anyway I’ll shut up now as I probably ranted all this in March 😉😆
