I've got to be honest, the fact theyve been able to maintain a chain of shops this long surprises me (I'm not a total CK hater, btw,)

I think the Bath store closed quite a long time ago, and if a store like that can't maintain a presence in one of the homes of twee, its always going to be in bother.

I don’t like their stuff but I’m still sorry for them.

It was his wife. She sounds horrible, but they both sound a bit crazy.

I must say I have never seen the fascination with Cath Kidston.

I liked some of the CK stuff, not the floral stuff though.

Debenhams have filed for administration according to the BBC.

Apparently it wil help them hold onto staff until this is all over? I didn't quite understand that.

It means administrators will run the company, so they can basically tell creditors “you can wait and hope you’ll get paid at some point when we can start trading again, or you can press for payment now and we’ll go bankrupt and you’ll get nothing”. This is particularly effective in holding off HMRC.

That's so sad. My dad was friends with a lot of that generation of racing drivers. So, their names came up frequently in conversation, when I was little. I suppose they would have all been around the same age, if they had lived. I'm never quite sure what the connection was - other than fellow petrol heads. Graham Hill was at my Christening. It feels like I've lost a little more of my father's memory.

I loved the Goodies. It was a special treat to be able to stay up and watch them when I was a kid.
