I would want them hulled if they were in something, but left alone (just washed) if a bowl brought to the table. That's because the less fucking around with my food by other people, the better. (I bite off the stalks)

Me too. I like using the stalk as a handle if they're just on their own, ready to be dipped in cream and / or sugar

One of my pet hates in those cooking videos is people not taking the stalks off. Why would I want a cheese cake with a load of stalks on too?

This was in an afternoon tea (picture advertising). I don't get why you'd chop in half (making them dry out) but not remove the stalk. I don't like biting around the stalk but wouldn't mind hulling myself, but it seemed strange but to if she's taking time to prep them anyway.
