Inconsequential CV stories
I thought about this yesterday, but I keep seeing or hearing things which aren't wildly important, but are interesting. I don't want to spam the main thread.
Things like this: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/newsbeat-51923334 which I find incredible to believe. I can't believe they havent told any of them to date. We're all struggling to adapt to this and we've had the rises spectre of it at least as preparation. To tell them on national TV seems particularly cruel!

I think that's downright irresponsible of them, not to mention cruel.

I actually don't think I'd be able to compute. I don't think they're going to believe it, for a start.

Here's a positive one, for balance. The canals in Venice are running clear, the fish and swans have returned. Dolphins are back in some coastal areas of Italy. It doesn't seem to take long for (some aspects of) nature to recover from us fucking it over for centuries.

That's one silver lining for me. The planet is having a short holiday.

That’s amazing. The reduction in pollution in China due to the shut down of Hubei province is said to have saved thousands of lives.
I see the comments there people posting a bit of this Kitty O’Meara quote, and maybe we should try to think about the positives that are going to stem from this, even if individually our lives will be negatively impacted:

I want to hope we come out of this as better people, Rosy. I'm yet to be convinced, but let's hope.

I hope so, so very very much. We are hearing a lot about selfish behaviour but there is a lot of kindness too. Maybe we'll come out the other side better.

There is, that is true. People are being very kind to each other. There are always going to be assholes, but they don't wipe out the good people.
I am heartened to see the Venice picture, too. Mother Nature kicking back.

While I love the idea of reading, and making art, and learning new ways of being and all that schizz, my day just continues on as normal, except with a bored four-yar-old under my feet when I'm trying to work.
