I know Ella, it's stressing me out too. How do they manage to dust?

We run a tight ship here, but a photo of our spare room/office wouldn't be that great, I have to admit. The ironing pile and has to live somewhere!

Yeah, ours isn't nearly *that* bad.

I like seeing evidence of the fallibility of humans. It's like those 'home for Christmas' posts on Twitter which make me realise my spare room is actually reasonable and habitable. I mean, the exercise bike is really handy for hanging clothes on etc. :))

I've said this before, but I've probably been in a lot of houses (probably a 1000ish, since I started this) and a disturbing number of people live quite disgustingly. The stuff on that woman's bed looks quite fresh, it's a piles of crap then covered in a layer of dusty/greasy crap that really disturb me.

In the rooms I use there is a visible (in that if the sun shines on it, or if you wiped a duster through some you'd see the rest) layer of dust on everything within a week. I don't get how people manage to clean with so much stuff.

They don't, I don't think. A lot of people clearly clean very infrequently.

How often do people normally dust? Asking for a friend :look:

Yes, I genuinely think the people who moved out of here refurbished the whole house in 2017 then didn’t clean it properly again!

Considering the state of this place when I moved in, I think some people simply don’t clean at all.

I dust the whole house once weekly, and usually do a quick whizz round downstairs (dust and vac) again during the week.

That really wouldn't surprise me Emma/Nine. I've been to houses that don't appear to have been cleaned for years and years. I was somewhere a few months ago, and the woman I met was about 60, very prim appearance. The house was an utter shit hole. Stuff everywhere and no evidence the house had been cleaned in a long time. The bit of wall behind where their kitchen bin was was absolutely disgusting, where things had splashed up over time. Just Vile.

Then there are the people who just have no shame. If I survey a house I go in all the rooms, and worn knickers on bedroom floors, half eaten plates of food left around aren't that uncommon. Like, dude, YOU ASKED ME TO COME HERE AND DO THIS! It wasn't a surprise visit!

Once a week. I'd be overrun by cat fluff if I didn't.

Manky bastards. I dust weekly. I could have got away with less in my flat but this house gets dusty.

I have to dust at least once a week. The stove ashes go everywhere!

I’ve been dusting far more now we actually live in our house properly rather than just sleeping here.
