That's so frustrating, Kleio. Who was it?

Equally frustrating - Didn't it occur to you that we might have plans other than waiting in for a signed for parcel on Christmas Eve?

A really close family friend who can normally just turn up but really doesn’t understand boundaries

Me (yesterday): tell me what I can get for you to make sure you have everything to want
Dad (yesterday): nothing thanks - I will be happy with whatever you make
Dad (today): no mushrooms? That’s disappointing :fee:

Come on, Edith - who doesn’t look forward to their traditional Christmas mushroom? You’ve dropped the ball there.

Christmas isn’t Christmas without some fungus.

That was just dinner last night

He asked what we will be having for the next few days and after I told him he reeled off a list of other things that he thought would enhance those meals. Things he failed to mention when specifically asked, prior to me shopping :verm:

He bloody loves having folk running around, pandering to him. Sadly for him, that’s not on my To Do list :ballet:

IWLTS really?? Again??

To my delightful neighbours who decided that 7.30am on Christmas Eve really is the best time to get the old leaf blower out and have a good noisy blast round the back garden.

The last time they did this was the morning after the England football game. They really are joyless twats.

My sister is the same Edith. I asked her last week if she had any special food requests, she said no. Now she’s complaining because there are no sprouts or red cabbage (I don’t like either) and not enough chocolate. It’s only tongue in cheek but it’s still annoying me :verm:

IWLTS: Nice to see how much you care about your third grandchild. :ella:

In-laws have not sent a present to A, not even a card. They haven't phoned either. J has ended up giving her one of the presents we bought her "from her Polish granny and grandad", because she had loads of presents from my side of the family. I'm so hurt on A's behalf.

Oh that’s sad, and I’m not surprised you’re hurt on her behalf.

That’s quite cruel. Do you know if she gets things for the others?

MIL? They're very close to the other 2 grandchildren, so I imagine so.
I mean, it is partly J's fault as well that she's not close to that side of the family, as he's completely failed to teach her Polish and they (Mil and Fil) only speak Polish, but you'd think they'd at least send a card.

I probably would be less pissed off about this if my own mother was still alive, tbf.

That's really hurtful, Zoom.

One of my uncles does that to mine every year Zoom and I don't know why. I've never done anything to offend him, yet he buys all of the others Easter eggs/ Christmas presents etc but nothing for my lot.

Every year I am told that it will get sorted by my Dad but it never is. I'm not so fussed about the actual presents, but I would love to know what I did for it to be this way.

J video-phoned them (in his sisters' house with her two) a few minutes ago and...nothing. He's refusing to discuss it with me at all. Anyway, tant pis to them, it's totally their loss because my daughter is amazing.

No, my dad has no idea why and he never gets around to asking about it. There are no issues between us so I think he just forgot, or missed them off of the list once and that was that. Thing is, it would be very difficult for me to say something now that it's gone on for so long.

Yeah, I can see that. Yours are old enough to notice as well, which makes it worse. A is still young enough to be oblivious, luckily.

If you can, get it (or get J to get it) resolved sooner rather than later because it certainly does still play on my mind and nobody wants that.
