I did not get it. But it’s such a nice idea.

It’s basically Mastermind with letters, isn’t it? The game, not the program, though

And I love Mastermind. I have a nice wooden version.

I’ve been doing ok with Wordle since I started - mainly 4s, a flukey 3 and one 6. I start with whatever word pops in my head that has 5 different letters.

I often start with STEAM but there's some very good alternative suggestions here, ta.

I used pause today and still got it in five. :lg:

I've never played Mastermind.

Without seeing the thread's suggestions, I started with WRITE, which was very lucky.

I've been doing this with some friends on WhatsApp. I like that only one can be done each day.

I started yesterday without really knowing what I was doing (especially the double letter thing) or putting any thought into my initial word and finally got it in 6. Slightly more thought behind todays which I got in 4, with a starting word of STOIC, because it felt like cheating to borrow anyone else's. :))

Excellent choice of starting word there, Nine!

I usually start with irate or least.

I wasn't getting today's at all and then hit lucky. I always get it on the last attempt.

I borrowed irate and got today's on my 6th attempt. :))

So it's just one word a day?

This is fun! Thanks for introducing me to it.

I did today's in 4 using heart. It didn't occur to me to use the same starter word

I think it was quite an easy word today though, and I fluked 3 letters in the right place on the first go so it wasn't hard to work out. Yesterday I had to make up words to get me to the end so I could find out what the bloody answer was!
