I hope you hear back. I don't think they've handled it correctly at all.
It’s like a normal midlife crisis only with more chandeliers and foreign languages.

Pip, what the actual fuck is that about? What do they mean your stories check out? I mean, I get procedural safeguarding etc etc but this is mental!

I’m still furious. I’ve had a reply from the head saying they acted appropriately. I want to rain down fire right now.

Yes, set fire to them.

You might have an unusual surname, but as you say, it’s not unique and looking at SM and putting 2 + 2 together and getting the right answer (hopefully) surely isn’t in the remit of a support person.

If they do mention safeguarding, then I’d not hesitate to ask them how they handle suspected broken bones.

Part of it says, “ Whilst I understand that their actions may be upsetting to you they were doing no more than I would expect of them with regards to safeguarding children.”

I think I’ve lost this one. They won’t apologise & they won’t recognise it’s not on, and I’m just going to seem unhinged.

I feel like I'm missing something...you didn't hit your child with your car, right?

That's infuriating, Pip. I think you have every right to be pissed off with them; I know I would be very upset by that.

IWLTS it's a routine dentist appointment, stop trying to sell me shit.

New dentist has tried to sell me whitening, braces and a crown in the space of five minutes. She tried to tell me some slight crookedness was "at risk of a full relapse" of my teenage orthodontic work. I said it had been in that position for thirty years after I skipped my final appointment as a teen, it could manage a bit longer.

Can't really trust any of her advice now.

WTAF are you doing with your life? You're nearly 50 years old and you're still pandering to the whims of men who were never worth a second glance. Polyamorous my arse. He's using you for free lodgings and chauffeuring as the woman he actually wants is married. The fact he leaves you in favour of her over and over at times when anyone with a hint of compassion would think twice tells you everything you need to know.

I know my sister well enough to know this would make her double down in protecting this waster. She accidentally sent drunken messages to me rather than him, and she is so miserable.

IWLTS: I know why you feel you have to do this but surely it’s kinder to euthanise.

Am I that transparent?

It’s a friends dog. She’s fundraising to pay for treatment but it’s not curable and might only extend his life for a short term.

My cousin paid literally thousands for her dog to have palliative chemo that gave it an extra couple of months. It was a rescue greyhound, ex-racing dog, towards the end of its life when she got it.

Oh don't tempt me. I gave up when she declared she had to 'work on herself'.

Kleio, I think this every time one of my colleagues complains about the thousands she spends paying to keep her menagerie of barely-alive pets going.

This is just cruelty. Chemo is going to make it feel worse - why would it want 2 extra months of feeling a bit ropey just so it can hang around a bit longer feeling ropey?

I don't know, Lils, but I find there's no accounting for dog people. I feel the same every time I watch an episode of the Supervet thing.
