That's not a real name!
I'm sure we had a thread like this before but I can't find it. Anyway, I've just discovered my company has employees called Vinton Buffenmeyer and Wouter Kool. I'm sure someone has just made them up

Re: That's not a real name!
Just before I left work I got an email from someone at my organisation called Wing Man. I thought it was a code name, but no, it's real

I used to have a supplier called Richard Organ. And yes, his colleagues used to abbreviate his name to Dick
Re: That's not a real name!
We had a visitor once called Bum Suk Lee - much hilarity in the security office.
A colleague named their baby daughter Electra Blades. :instantpornstarname:
People from my organisation - Alan Aadvark, Brad Bender, Mafia Begum, Rupert Beer....I could go on and on....

I had a list of these, I pull them out of the Birth Marriage and Death records whenever I see one I posted it on the previous thread so I won't post it again, but I did used to have an American colleague called Gay David (a bloke). I was shocked rigid when I first heard people talking about him because I thought it was a terribly un-PC nickname, but no, he really was called Gay.
The wonder of the world, the beauty and the power, the shapes of things, their colours, lights and shades - these I saw. Look ye also whilst life lasts.

It might be an urban myth but I heard a tale of a woman in London who reported a colleague for racist language. Turned out the colleague was Irish and had a brother called Packie (common shortened version of Patrick in Ireland)BonnyBlue wrote: I did used to have an American colleague called Gay David (a bloke). Hugh Jarse was a favourite with wits who would ring the pub I worked in

My friend's parents named her something that actually sounds like Netball.

Re: That's not a real name!
No, the Packie thing is totally true: my ex boss in London wanted to use him for some advertising thing, and one of our (not exactly up on Irish goalkeepers of the 1990s and who could blame her) colleagues got in a complete hump, and reported him, and it took some sorting out.
These names are great. Sennacot Runnypoo canNOT be true!
