There was an educator at the daycare my kids went to who called his kid Kal-El. I also work with someone called Jorel (which is Superman’s dad I believe?)
There’s a new kid at school called (and I’m not sure if this is how you spell it) Z.axton- so a cross between Zach and Jackson I think.
I wish I could tell my mum about this, she was a gigantic snob about names and would have practically turned inside out at Billy-Boy and Zaxton . Amazing.

Zaxton! That’s incredible. My sort-of sister’s * choices pale into normalcy by that comparison.
*She’s the daughter of my stepfather’s second wife. Her first three children have quite normal names but the others are H.armony, H.arlee and K.eanu. She probably thinks my kids have ridiculously old-fashioned names, though.
It’s like a normal midlife crisis only with more chandeliers and foreign languages.
I’ve also just discovered an actual real life Dawson in J’s year. She’s the child of someone I met out for drinks who I thought was called Nicola. Cos that’s how it’s written. But she’s called Ni-Cola (like the drink).
Ni-Cola! Welcome to a lifetime of correcting people.
I just saw a Maz.ie-Bella on a baby group page. Maisie is such a lovely, and mostly unusual name already, and then even more so when hyphenated with something else if that’s what you were aiming for. Mazie, on the other hand, is horrible. :sitsonfence:
