That’s the Polish (and possibly other bits of Eastern Europe) pronunciation though, not completely novel.
That's not a real name!

The French male name Nicolas is pronounced how I think you mean Ni-Cola (Nee-co-lah) too.

No, not Nee-Cola. A very short “Ni” and “Cola” very much like the drink (which when I say it is different to the French pronunciation). It doesn’t sound like the French Nicolas at all the way she says it.

I discovered we have a real life Margot Tenenbaum working at my firm, she and I were in the same meeting today

I went to school with a Ni-Cola. Emphasis on the cola.

A short “i” (not ee) and emphasis on the Co? That’s how I was imagining it.

Yes, like that Tex. I had never heard of that. She definitely isn’t Polish, but maybe she has some heritage?

Ha, sorry, I forgot you were the original poster and obviously know about French pronunciation! I'm now imagining her name to be like the Ricola ad
Although that has a long iiii.

I assume it's a nickname rather than an actual name but Jack Nicklaus posted a tweet a few days ago about his new son in law Todger Strunk

Sorry, it's his new grandson in law.
Doesn't change the fact that he's called Todger though.

Noooo!
It’s like a normal midlife crisis only with more chandeliers and foreign languages.

I know it is a real name but someone I know has just had a grandchild called Brian! Brian! In 2021! Baby Brian really doesn’t suit his name.
