That’s a shame about the lip oil.

I don’t know, but she pushes them relentlessly, and CT products too. I’m getting a bit suspicious about it all.

Fair enough. I think I dismissed Beauty Pie when it first came out as all coverage seemed to be advertorials, so I probably still only skim-read anything on it.

Yes, it's all advertorials, and it's misleading to say you can get a specific product for e.g. £5 when if fact you literally can't because there are many other costs to factor in. Also I think it's misleading to say that it would be "worth" £50 because nobody pays the "full" price so they have no idea.

Yes, that really annoys me. And the whole "made in the same factory as..." line which gets spouted.

So going back to that skincare list, I've only tried a couple of them. I do tend to think you get what you pay for with skincare (up to a certain point).

- Biore sunscreen. HATED this. It made my eyes stream and left a visible white cast.

- The Body Shop Camomile eye makeup remover. I haven't actually tried this but I keep meaning to, so I've put it here to remind myself.

- Weleda Skin Food. I HATE the smell so much that I'd never buy it. Very greasy too. This is one of those products that always makes it into these lists, and I can't shake the feeling it's mostly because beauty editors like to play Marie Antoinette sometimes :)).

- Superdrug Simply Pure Hydrating Serum. Everybody else loves this, but I hate it so much. It made my skin feel dry straight away, and gave me spots every time I tried it. Bin.

- Soaper Duper shower gels. Fine, perfectly nice.

- Dr Bronner's soap; We take a mini one on holiday now in case of needing to hand wash anything, or wash up or something. It's very nice and I like the background to the brand (although it's very sad), but I'm not sure I'd use it on my skin. Great packaging etc. though.

Going back to the makeup list:

- I like RealTechniques brushes (there really is NO excuse to use fur in makeup brushes)

- I like Wetbrush hair brushes

- I bought the root re-touch last week when I saw it mentioned there

- Flower Beauty just looks a bit scammy, scammy, scamola to me in a way I can't properly articulate

- the Charles Worthington Everyday Micellar Shampoo is nice, but don't use it literally every day because it won't get your hair properly clean.

Aw, I like Skin Food, but that’s also because I have a bit of a tenuous link to Weleda through home & my old yoga teacher. I drive past their biodynamic gardens on the way to my parents’ house. I’ve had my tube for years; I might buy a new one.

I need to look at the list again and really think about it. I do want to get some Maybelline colour tattooee eyeshadow that she reviewed the week before the lists.

I use Dr bronners as a second cleanser. I really like it, and it's good as a make up remover.

It is excellent on a holiday, I am away in Cambridge at the moment, and I forgot to pack toothpaste. The bottle says you can use it as toothpaste so I figured I'd see what happens :)) it doesn't taste as disgusting as I thought it would and my teeth do feel clean. I don't think I could use it every day though

I love skin food and put it on my children’s eczema as well as on my hands. It was also surprisingly effective on some rosacea (or something similar at least) that I developed during pregnancy. I like the smell too though.

That Biore sunscreen is the one I’d use by the pool or on the kids. This one https://www.amazon.co.uk/Biore-Perfect- ... B001O0DBWY has no white cast, is a really nice makeup base and reduces shine without dryness.

I always think Skin food is like 8 hour cream and probably of no more benefit than sudocrem.

That is super cute. I love it.

I've been using up a sample of a Dr Barbara Sturm Hyluronic Acid serum and have been marvelling at how nice it makes my skin look. And then I looked up the price of a full size. £230. :twitch:

I got a sample of DE Protini the other day and I'm baulking at the price of that! I really like it

I have a mini one of those to try. I hear it’s really good. I’m really liking their retinol, even though my face is falling off a bit today. I’ve been using it for a couple of months twice a week and the flakiness is easing up a bit now.

I've been using the Protini (+ B-Hydra and C-Firma), it's excellent*. You do only need a tiny bit so it lasts well.

*To the point where 2 STRAIGHT MIDDLE AGED MEN commented on my skin (which wasn't particularly problematic before or anything).

I thought DE was a bit over hyped so I am a bit annoyed to like it so much :)). I am scouring ebay for a deal now though.

While I’m waffling away to myself :blah: I really like the look of their new balm cleanser (Slaai). Unscented thought.

I would really like to try some of the DE stuff but I can't justify nearly £80 for the set of minis.

I like the look of the Slaai as well and it's not that more expensive than some other balm cleansers so it's on my radar to try out.
