That’s beautiful, Pov. I’d never be able to do anything like that - I have neither the patience nor the dexterity and I just know the gems would start to annoy me after the first half hour of novelty.

My lacquers are normal ones i.e. not gels. I have some polishes which are gel-style but they are taken off with normal remover.
The rack on the left is Kiko ones that I bought in batches when they were on offer online at e.g, £1 a bottle. Some are quick dry, some are metallics or fusions or pastels. I like them because they are good quality, cheap and covered the full colour spectrum.

The rack on the right is Leighton Denny ones, which is the first brand I was into. They go on brilliantly but are pricier. I have favourite colours there that I go back to time and again, especially one of the nudes which is called Supermodel.

I also have a dozen or so Barry M ones, a few stray OPI and a treasured bottle of Chanel Rouge Noir that I bought back when it was THE thing, before everyone else got on the bandwagon.

I’ve got a very problematic thumbnail which splits from top to cuticle, and nothing I’ve tried - strengtheners etc - has made an iota of difference. I had something called builder gel applied a few weeks back and it’s really helped! I had them redone 2 days ago and am so pleased with how they’re doing - long and strong compared to before!

The gel itself is nude but I’ve added this neutral over the top…

I have similar issues with both my thumb nails, only mine split horizontally near the top bed of my nails. It’s been happening for years and nothing works to prevent splitting.

Est I love those blackboard ones too, did they mark?? My nail tech put me off the matte.
