I think it would look nicer without the straps.

That's a beautiful dress Lils, and it looks fabulous on you. You do NOT need to worry about arm bulges! Where's it from?

Thank you! I am now officially on the lookout for another maxi dress, as I've been wearing the one I have to death - I love it.

Hmm I'm 5ft 9" and it was floor sweeping. But you can get free returns, and this code will give you 25% off them:
FG10HT4.

Ah thats good actually, as I can always wear wedges with them! Better to be too long than too short :teacher:

Thanks for the discount code :)

Faute de Mieux wrote:I bought this one from Warehouse but mine has more prominent turquoise than the one in this picture & I got a little turquoise Monsoon shrug to go with it.

And also this one which is a bit of a miracle dress; I've worn it twice & twice been asked if I've lost weight.
Faute, this post is directly responsible for me going into Warehouse yesterday, where I found the black version a wee bit too short but also tried on this one, and bought it :)

I also bought a gold woven belt to break it up a bit, but I'll only charge you for the dress what with it being your fault and all :sman:

I like that Leap! It sounds nice with the belt too.

I have a hankering for another maxi now, but more of a flowery smocked/shirred type one. I might have a quick look in town tomorrow when I pop out to the bank.

Speeds, my sister bought a jersey one from Tesco and just cut the bottom off. She didn't even bother hemming it & it looks fine.

Thanks Pip but I don't think we've got we've got any in our Tesco. I have found a nice once in the children's section of Next for her though which she's going to try and track down this week. It's bright green with huge butterflies and looks really nice.

I just try lots on and then buy the ones that aren't too trippy-uppy. I do quite enjoy swishing about thoguh so I like mine long, just as well really. I've found ASDA ones to be good for shorties.

I think she's found one but I'll mention Asda to her as well even if it does mean a trip out to Wisbech aka Village of the Dammed!
This is the one. I think she must have passive tmt maxi dress syndrome.

I don't think any maxi dress would ever be worth a visit to Wisbech :nerves:

Bump!

I am selling my Boden maxi dress on eBay after seeing terrible lumpen pics of me (admittedly more than a stone heavier and not looking my finest) in it at a wedding last year. The good news is there is a lot of interest in it, so I thought I'd bump in case anyone else had decided they didn't like theirs any more. There is definitely a market for them!
