I think it would look nice to just carry the second colour to the end.

If it was for me :beg: I would have the oatmeal color for the top third and the blue-grey color for the bottom 2/3.

I think I'd do the bottom stripe in the same colour as the top.
If your back's against the wall, turn around and write on it.

Time for honesty, Turtles: is 48 too old to be breaking in a new pair of DMs?? I've been coveting these particular ones for years now and finally ordered a pair, which just arrived. I love them but don't want to end up looking like I'm trying to be 20 again...

No, it is not. DMs transcend age. Those are awesome!

This is from a 43 year old who owns (and wears) a ridiculous pair of New Rocks gothic space-marine-esque combat boots, however.

I'm so pleased you all said I should keep them!! And yes PG, it will be painful but worth it! Having flashbacks to being 17 and breaking in my first pair...

Yes, sorry. They sell socks called doc socks, which are padded in all the areas where new DMs rub. I found them amazing last time I had a new pair to break in.
