Gladiator or Granny? There has to be something else!
Right?
They're not me either, Sal, sorry. I know if I bought them for NY, I'd never wear them again but then I'd feel guilty every time I saw them, until I eventually throw them out in a strop one boring winter's day. (This may or may not be what happened to the last pair of sandals I bought for walking around a big city. )
Maybe I should just give up and accept that "walking sandals" are not for me. I blame the nuns; they gave me a lifelong horror of comfortable shoes.
I get it. There is never a perfect sandal. I usually look at the shoe brands I know are comfy and pick the least worse. I did buy some Arizona Loves sandals a while ago after all the fashionistas were banging on about the and they are so so so comfortable. (they are always on sale somewhere)

No need to apologise, I'm not trying to make a sale :))
Christ on a bendy bus son, don't be such a fucking faff arse
Maybe a very airy trainer if it's going to be warm. My feet have absolutely roasted in trainers in this warm weather. Like so unbearably that I have to rip them off when I reach the office.

I think they are very disturbing to look at, a bit Flintstones-style bondage.
They are! I think LM's suggestion is a sensible one.
If I was packing light I'd just take havs (rose gold) and a pair of tan sandals with a strap round the ankle so they stay on in a summer downpour (sliders and flip flops are a nightmare in rain!). I'd suggest saltwaters as I find them really comfortable but I know they're not everyone's cup of tea.

If I was going to NY, and planning to do a lot of walking, I’d probably live in sneakers I like the look of and bring nice sandals for some evenings.
Yeah, I think that's probably the best idea. Realistically, even if I get magic unicorn comfortable and not ugly sandals, I'm not going to wear them all that much anyway as the opportunity just wouldn't arise.
Thanks all!
I've found trainers fine for days of actual walking even in really hot countries so I'd just stick with that and keep sandals for times where you're not going far.
If your back's against the wall, turn around and write on it.

I might adopt Bondage Flinstone as my new look. I think it would suit me. I practically live in a cave already.
:))
Saltwaters also fail the nun test, unfortunately. They are extremely American Tan tights adjacent.

We used to call those type of sandals Jesus Creepers
Super light trainers like sketchers (specifically made for City walking) are my go to. I would not expose my naked feet to the horrors of a new York sidewalk or subway :))
Mollie King was wearing a skirt like that the other day :stalker: and it looked really good on her. I don’t think I could walk in one though. I’d be like a waddling penguin.
I bought it and it fits well. It’s got a bit of stretch in it and the split aids walking. It’s longer on me than the model though as I’m vertically challenged.
Back to sandals, I love heavenly feet sandals, they have a cushioned base and don’t look too remedial (sorry saltwaters, I’m looking at you!). I’ve lived in my pair for about two summers now and they are so comfy.
These are similar to mine, but they have lots on their website.
