Re: Items to which I am allured
I really wanted a very long, super warm and waterproof coat, but am yet to find one. They are a bit shower proof and I do really feel the cold (if that helps?)

Same Marth, my hunt goes on year after year. Being tall means I struggle to get anything even knee length. I'd love something that would make outdoors visiting comfortable this year as well as something that would be OK for hanging around parks on playdate all winter.

I went to a few cafes over the weekend, where we either needed to sit outside, or all the doors were open. It was getting far to cold for me to do that. I was freezing. Good kit is going to be vital.Heebie Jeebie wrote: ↑Sun Sep 27, 2020 8:49 am Same Marth, my hunt goes on year after year. Being tall means I struggle to get anything even knee length. It really is! I'm also going to get myself some decent ankle boots. Not walking boots particularly (although I could probably use a pair) but just good leather boots for tromping round pavements in winter lockdown(s).

I feel like just getting into that and not coming out until at least March.

I have an amazing calf length duvet coat. It's from cotton traders and it is bright red so admittedly not the most stylish but it's so warm and snuggly. MrM absolutely hates it, he calls it my bag lady coat

If that giant jelly baby suit had arms I'd consider it.

I have a decent coat from Craghoppers, but its about 6 inches too short to give me full protection when wearing boots. It's one that keeps you warm on winter, but doesn't roast you in warmer weather.
I've checked the one smal posted and it would definitely do the job if I was measured correctly.

I actually have one of those people-shaped sleeping bags (the ones with arms), I bought it for festivals because I hate being constrained by a mummy bag.

Oh, they are lovely! I covet! Though I have sworn off camping for a bit.H1ppychick wrote: ↑Sun Sep 27, 2020 11:36 am I actually have one of those people-shaped sleeping bags (the ones with arms), I bought it for festivals because I hate being constrained by a mummy bag.

I cannot bear mummy sleeping bags. They make me rageous.

They’re by no means as warm but an extra blanket on top sorts that out.

They had it so I bought it, because you can't try things on. I'm honestly 50/50 between i love it and its utterly ridiculous (not on a good way)

Ah that’s a shame. I think knee length would be better. It does look very toasty though.

The hood is kind of crucial to the whole thing really

They've changed the hood a lot. It does look quite odd even in person. You'll be warm though

I think I'm going to take it back. Either that or zip up and just not come out ever again.

I don’t think you buy that kind of coat for the looks. I like it, anyway.
