Going back to the padded coats, I've ordered this to try. I was out today, Inc sat in a pub which had all its doors open and I was so cold. It spurred me on.

I've also ordered this (over the top), but I take beta blockers and my fingers and feet were so cold and went numb.

Yes definitely. Padded coats seem to be the Covid must buy of the winter. A bit like garden furniture and plants of the Covid summer.

The shops are full of comforting clothes generally. Obviously it makes sense, no ones looking for the Must have party dress of the season.

I keep seeing lovely (expensive) office clothes I’m too fat for and don’t need.

Yes, I want to buy clothes, but then wonder where I will wear them. Seems a bit pointless. (It's not stopping me from trying though)

I know, the knowledge I don't need to fit into anything smart for the next six months minimum is NOT helpful (to my girth)

I put all of my nice clothes away in moth-proof bags a few months ago .

I did mine last week! In a bag in the attic. No one needs off the shoulder or sequins this year. Ah well. It'll be nice getting it all out next year (so I can admire how I wasn't morbidly obese once)

I have to go into the office for my flu jab next week, and I will need to butter myself to get anything on .

I use the foot ones at work when it’s really cold.

I do too. I'm a bit amazed anyone is trying to sell that stuff. The day I went into the office I wore jeggings with an elasticated waist.

Same here. I see so many lovely clothes for autumn I want to buy and then I remember that I only wear leggings and jumpers now

I felt really sad looking at party dresses the other day.

I saw a Snag model wearing these in red and now I'm wondering if I'm having a mid life crisis. It would be so nice to wear shoes which aren't Fit Flop.

My coat has arrived and it is SO warm. The hood is ridiculous though and the pockets are an odd choice, however it's good and i'm keeping it.

If anyone wants the Joules version of the hooded padded coat, it’s just gone on sale at QVC as a daily special for £140 + £5 P&P

I am considering this for summer drinks at the start of December. I’m not sure how it will work on me as I’m not super tall.

That’s very pretty, Est. I will never fully get my head around you buying summery clothes when we’re well into autumn though. :)

I’ve seen this & really like it. Really do not need it.
