I love that both your sweatshirt Pip and your dress, Smal.

I’ve just bought these for 30% off in Black Friday sales. I nearly bought them in black too but I don’t think I’d wear them as much.

Great sparkles!

I am hoping that my jumper is actually nicer than the photo, I suspect it’s fine knit shot through with sparkly thread from other photos on the site. :fc: I’m sure Steph McGovern or Lorraine Kelly will have it, usually one or both have the Joanie collection in full.

My dress came. I love it so much. It fits like a dream but for the band around my ribs is a bit tight. I'm not my slimmest right now *cough* but equally don't really carry weight around my ribs anyway. They've sold out of 14s online and I think it would be too big everywhere else anyway. Argh. Dunno what to do.

Is it a single piece all around or are there side seams - if so you could maybe try and let it out slightly if there's enough fabric? It might fuck up the shaping though (and you could always re-sew it if so).

Only worth trying if you decide to keep it, obviously. It is a lovely dress.

It looks gorgeous on you. Is it too tight to wear comfortably, though?

Its just on the verge I'd say, definitelynot unwearablebut might be irritating. The rest of it fits like a dream.

I'm not sure, I'll check. I don't know if my sewing skillz are up to it though

Have you tried sitting for a while in it? I had a jumpsuit with the same problem, and I sent it back after it got increasingly uncomfortable while sitting.

New look sizing is not very consistent. I took a button up denim midi skirt into the changing room (the summer before last, when you could still try things on in store!) and the size 12 was smaller than the size 10.

It's not actually one of their branded goods, its one of the other lines they carry (I've checked their website itself and also nothing). But I was a bit perturbed because I'm usually 10-12 so thought a 12 would be a safe bet!

I ahem lovely LK Bennett dress with exactly the same problem too, it languishes in my wardrobe as by lunchtime it's always really uncomfortable.

It looks absolutely beautiful on you, but if you’re even a tiny bit uncomfortable I bet you’ll never wear it.

I’ve just returned two pairs of straight leg black jeans to M&S (ordered two lengths), and that was because even the shortest length were too long for me to wear with flats and I just knew I’d never wear them.
