I've just been back and I like your chairs and tins Marth and Pip's end of bed thingy.
Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me either, just fuck off and leave me alone.

The tray is definitely too big to go on the sofa. :)) There are 3 sizes and smallest one (the cocktail size :snooty: ) is the perfect size to sit next you on the sofa.

The tray will probably only be off in the evenings and if I wanted to put my feet up. There’s a gap behind the sofa and the windows so it can be propped up there out of the way.

When I say ‘underneath’ I mean will the table sit inside the tray, not will it fit under the sofa.

Mr O isn’t convinced by the style. I would kill him if he went and bought a piece of furniture I didn’t like so it doesn’t seem very fair to buy without his buy in.

I had a whim and measured up straight away, and then played my trump card of saying I’d give up on the chaise dream.

It’s here! Quite dinky but perfect for the space. C is impressed that I got the legs on it & the old Malm box out to the garage while he went for a run.

We need to paint the radiator when we do the room!

I've funnelled my sulk into spending a ludicrous amount on what is basically just tissue :mog:

A selection of smaller ones, and then two big ones

How do you display them, Ella?

I have a really big round one a bit similar but never know what to do with it.

I hang some of them from the ceiling in a kind of brick archway thing we have (that doesn't go anywhere; it's part of the old warehouse). A few I sort of display together on top of a very high bookshelf (sounds crap, but if you imagine there are 3, all different sizes, in a little cluster, it might sound better). I think they look nice in clusters but they're very hard to arrange.

This is at Christmas, I should add, not all the time!

I'm going to try dangling them in the hallway, where we had the extension the roof apex is higher. I'm not 100% sure it'll work.

A red big one, a white big one, and then three each in red, royal blue and turquoise (in various sizes 6-12"). The last three are from ebay though so really anything could turn up. I didn't want them to be overtly christmassy colours. I bought some navy ones for S's 40th party last year which I think are still knocking around upstairs somewhere.

Do I want this chair? Not a purchase as I haven’t bought it yet.

I am ordering some shelves from CB2 with the 15% off Black Friday offer, and perused other stuff thinking maybe I’d get a desk, too. But I have a small-ish space in the living room for a lounge chair as what is there currently (a 20-year old bright red IKEA swivel chair) is finally looking very worn (and it never gets sat in anyway). I have a cream/black striped rug, white coffee table and a dark grey sofa that it would be sitting next to.

It’s a bit expensive, I guess because it’s leather. I was thinking I might spend half that amount on a new chair and that felt extravagant. But I really haven’t seen much I like (especially in that price range, so maybe I was being unrealistic).

These are the shelves BTW. Entirely unrelated to the chair as they’ll be in a different room.
