I actually quite like the flat, and how they've used the space with the raised bed, but obviously the branches thing is just totally weird. Also, imagine having to climb down a ladder half asleep in the middle of the night when you needed a wee?

Is that some weird attempt to make the fact that the bed is about six inches from the feeling 'fun' rather than awful?

Horrible, looks like a spider trap to me too. And surely that's a studio with "bed deck" not one bedroom.
