Re: Strange & Unusual Houses
Is that a bookcase on the back of the door in picture 6?
If so, it's a nice idea, but wouldn't you always be picking up books that had fallen off when you shut the door (every time you go in or out, if you're me - see the door thread)?
Also, there are a lot of very narrow rooms, but they look good with the low furniture and long rectangular windows.

It's that pink tile in the kitchen that would be the hardest to get rid of but it would have to go. I like a little bit of pink but that's too much!

My friend from school lives in that village, right on the river.

Re: Strange & Unusual Houses
The pink tiles in the kitchen looks more pinky-purple than the rest of the pink in the house, and it's really offputting. Also - why do they have that sofa in that narrow room in picture 6 - it makes it look like a waiting room!
I quite like the pink sofas against the dark walls though. Just none of the rest of the pink (including the token efforts - like the pink towel in the bathroom!).

My friend says:
It’s a funny house, we looked around it about three times five years ago before it was pink but couldn’t bring ourselves to like it! I’ve only spoken to her once so no idea what she’s like!

Wow. So much pink!
A lot of the rooms have weirdly small lamp shades.

I really dislike an ungenerous lamp shade.

Yes! Someone (likely you two!) mentioned this recently but the thread had moved on by the time I read in and I really wanted to strongly agree!

I don’t think it was me! Light fittings are a major bone of contention at our house.
I would like to know what the metal storage thing on picture 9 is.

One of those filing cabinets with the fronts that roll up?
I'd like to know who the man in picture three is.

Re: Strange & Unusual Houses
I was expecting far worse when I clicked on the link, from all the comments! It was mainly the sign and the pink kitchen tiles I didn’t like. Oh and the lifesize picture of the woman flashing her suspenders
That’s just a chest of office drawers with a roller canopy top, isn’t it emma?

Re: Strange & Unusual Houses
A tambour cabinet? Is that what they’re called?
I like the man in the photo, The Modern House sometimes have blurry people and it does add a bit of life to estate agent photos.
I can’t stand the IKEA valet stand in photo 12 but I just looked it up and they are from the 80s and now worth £££!
This would be a good house for that Stacey Dooley programme where you have to guess who the owner is!

Tambour, yeah. You get them in office furniture a lot, so I'm never sure about them in houses

The sign is super naff but I don't mind the pink, it's better than magnolia or greige or white everywhere.
If your back's against the wall, turn around and write on it.

I've squinted and squinted and I see no man in picture three - only the picture of the suspender-flashing woman that Liv mentions.

Oh yes, I just zoomed in and it’s not a person but a huge, tasteless piece of “art”
