This house isn’t unusual in any way. In fact it’s very beautiful inside (we visited it today), but it’s unusual in a very Australian way - it’s a prize home. Charities build them all the time and then sell off raffle tickets so you can win them. I wondered if it might, Wendy. It’s such a good idea. What you find here is that the tradies who physically build the house donate their time free of charge too to the charity gets more $$.

The Devon house is gorgeous as well, but I'm not sure I'd like to be that open to the weather in England. Might be a bit cold.

I was convinced the Devon house must be a scam, it turns up on so many websites and I’ve never clicked on it.

Wasn't there a thing a while back where someone here (in the UK I mean, not a turtle) raffled their house but then didn't sell enough tickets so cancelled it?

I also like the way it's in a "leafy" suburb but all traces of anything leafy have been removed from the garden. But hey, there's a shower out there. Score.

It looks like loads of those shower panels that were a thing for a while as a cheap option instead of tiles. The design resembles an oil-on-water pattern like you used to get on the inside cover of hardback books. Or a green marbled onyx egg.

And the vase matches. It's all hideous.
