It looks great, Pip. I love the seating too.

That looks so lovely Pip! We have a very similar table, and your layout is exactly what I want for it.

I’ve just realised I can’t do a kitchen workout now though.

Does the bench fit under the table?

No, not quite. :lg:

I’ve oiled it just now & added the extending leaves. These are definitely for entertaining only, not day to day. Ignore the weird window graffiti. I will clean it off soon. We went a bit mad with chalk pens.

That is a bit irritating. We have the same issue with the chairs at the ends of the table not fitting under either.

I like the different grain of wood on the leaves!

I can’t wait to get a new dining table but we’ve agreed to wait until the children are a bit older - our table works hard at the moment.

I really love the contrast of the extending leaf too. It looks so good.

Our old one certainly did! I sanded the varnish off & oiled it a couple of years ago & I really did love that table. But it didn’t make best use of the space.

Once the old furniture is gone, we’re going to concentrate on turning the dining room into another sitting room & someone’s coming to quote for putting a roof on our conservatory next week.

I need to do the same on mine to try to make it last a bit longer. The varnish has worn away at various places Liv has sat :))

The table looks really good, Pip. That looks like such a nice space to hang out.

I really like that, baa. You've reminded me I need to find an upholsterer.

Thanks! The lady is in my nearby tiny town, so I'm very pleased. She's doing a blind for the living room window in the same fabric.

That's great. I've found a couple of people locally. I've got to have my sofas recovered so it's a big job and I'm nervous about it.

My lady was happy to show me photos of her work, which was reassuring.

Yes, I'll make sure I see some pictures. Hopefully I'll feel better when I actually speak to them. And when I've decided on a colour!
