Ooh! If it wasn't for the kitchen, I'd really like that house. Looks cozy.

It's a complete mish-mash of a house. Industrial yet mid-century living room meets sleek modern bathroom meets shabby chic bedrooms meets WTF is that kitchen? And I am amused that they have decorated both bedrooms identically, even down to the bedframe. I would have thought they'd not have ignored the chance to showcase yet another style in the second bedroom!

That's nice, but I'd want a turret.

To change the subject a little, its not really appropriate to this thread, but I don't know where else to put it. My friend is trying to sell her flat in Cardiff. Its a two bed, about 10 yrs old, it's on an estate, and there must be at least 75 identical flats on the estate. She needs to sell it for (lets say, figures altered a little for reasons of privacy) £117,500, and has marketed it as such, but there are 5 identical flats up for sale right now, the next most expensive of which is £110,000. The lowest of which is OIEO of £100k. Hers does look the nicest, because she's painted it alright and its got some reasonable furniture and decorations, and I think she really thinks it'll sell for asking price, due to this. But people aren't that dumb are they? Its not my place to say it, but I kind of feel bad sitting back and saying 'Oh yeah, well hopefully it'll sell, it does look nice in the photos!'. I feel bad for her, because I've been there, trying to flog a flat that won't sell, but equally, she's been incredibly dumb with her finances (she's had an interest only mortgage for 9yrs :ella:, while interest rates were as low as they'll ever be), so she's never paid off a penny, and the flat decreased in value, so she's got no where to go with it.

Whilst you never know how dumb people might be (if it looks better than the others on for the same price just because of the interiors, she might get away with it), do you think she'd actually listen to you if you talked a bit of sense at her? I suspect you might be wasting your breath until she's had x weeks of no interest.

I don't think the people who live here have quite considered kerb appeal. :woteva:

The castle itself is not for sale, though, just the coach house.

No you're right, she'd never listen to me. I was just musing about it really :blah: .

 What you really need to do to a slightly ugly looking house is paint it bright yellow, yes.

Well people would never have difficulty finding a bright yellow house. I live down a very long road and our group of houses are about the only ones set back from the road. Whenever you have someone visiting for the first time (or 2nd, 3rd time etc) you have to stand by the side of the road and wave them down!

I love the bright yellow house but it would have to be painted another colour immediately. I can't get over how expensive the pink kitchen house is! It's more expensive than the 4 bedroom castle!

Bright yellow house is only an upstairs maisonette. Maybe the poor owners didn't get a say and the downstairs people own the freehold and went for the yellow thing. :))#

That pink kitchen is gack and why is there an empty picture frame in the living room? :verm:

If so, what a bunch of bastards! I do like a nicely painted house, but it's got to be a good colour and dayglo isn't it.
