Really amused by the out of focus shots of the corners of room. No. 10 is my favourite, a fuzzy photo of a pile of food (and its so a 'I'm going to tidy by piling things up', pile).

That sofa is way, way, way too big for the room it is in.

That's a very unpleasant sitting room. It looks as though sitting in it would make a person feel low-level bad and twitchy.

It is too big. The description says its 'well presented' which I think is a stretch.

Its the same style as our house, I can't envisage how they've rammed that sofa in. I hope our living room doesn't feel as unpleasant!

My poor wallpaper and sofa  . :)) No, we don't.

How did a corner sofa ruin your marriage Bats? I'm not massively keen on corner sofas, so we do not have one.

I don't want to offend anyone with my corner sofa opinions :look: . I could write several paragraphs on my dislike though

Ooh, do tell :scrap: We are on the fence, with a straight sofa with an extended chaise longue bit at one end. I don't really like corner sofas either but I have no idea why

A while after we got the corner sofa I realised we had just slipped into having our own space on it. Me on the corner bit, feet up, and him on the other end. There was just no opportunity for casual touching, not in a sex way, just companionable. No feet up on him, or anything. It sort of cemented own space in a way that I don't think was ultimately all that nice. :))

Obviously, if you're naturally tactile and actually like your partner, this need not happen. :))

Welll. They're usually too big, and randomly divide rooms up at inappropriate points, or block radiators or other fittings. They just don't look very nice to my eye, I think a well designed and proportioned sofa is a very attractive thing, but a corner sofa looks like its just all oozed out all over a living room. They never seem to be that comfortable (although, granted, I've never lived with one). There's something about them that feels like its a bit institutional, like a doctors waiting room or a reception (its the modular nature of them, I think). They're just.. I'm not keen. I could go on but I probably shouldn't.

Hmm, I can see that, Bats. I sort of felt like that a bit when we got an armchair, having previously just had the sofa. On the otherhand, a 3 seat sofa just isn't sufficient for 2 adults and a growing boy, so it had to happen. The armchair is lovely but not good for curling up, so then at least it does make us both sit on the sofa, together, quite often.

My ex-corner sofa is now in two halves and is probably much happier for it. One half now lives in my catsitter's conservatory, where is is bed for sleeping dogs, as she also boards huskies. The other half in in my conservatory, draped in stripy blankets, pretending to be a chaise longue. This is a much better purpose for a corner sofa than being a corner sofa.

We have the same thing really, Bats, with the own space aspect, but I quite like it as we get plenty of enforced closeness in our stupidly small bed :)) We actually used to sit closer on the sofa but it's really crappy so we try to spread the load better now

I think corner sofas I've seen IRL have always been correctly sized for the rooms, so it must be more the waiting room aspect that you mention, smal. Over here "Moroccan" style sitting rooms are fairly popular and I really don't like those either as it's the full waiting room style.

That's a bit horrible. :( It does look like a corporate space, rather than a living room.

 They're not all that common, but as a country with a lot of people who have north african roots, there are quite a lot around.
