Fingers crossed Starry. And pre-packing nine and cluef
Our buyers did reappear at the end of last week to say the survey was fine but now they’ve gone AWOL again about a moving date (we’ve been asking for WEEKS). I’ll call the estate agent again tomorrow.

They sound extremely annoying, Chicky. I'd want to give them an ultimatum. Are there any other interested buyers who might want to step in?
My lovely electrician has just been and removed my sputnik light and little wall lights, so my lucky buyer will move in to a plain old ceiling rose and some 90s wall lights )

75% of our stuff has been in the garage since we moved at the beginning of November and I'm starting to think that if we've managed this long without it, we don't need it.
I have a beautiful rattan wardrobe and chest of drawers from The Pier that I just won't have room for in the new place and I'm gutted. I think I'm going to have to either put it on the local Facebook For Sale group or Freecycle it. :(

I'm sure there are but we've come reasonably far with these ones and in theory they are the best buyers as they are in rented and don't have to sell their house (the other offerers all had property to sell). It's really frustrating though, we've been asking and asking whether they can move in April and we're not even getting a "we're thinking about it", just radio silence. If they can't move when we want to in April then we can delay the sale of our house and still proceed with our purchase, but it involves significant fannying on* and I'd like to know if we need to start making contingency plans.
I'm going to ring the estate agent tomorrow and say we need to know by the end of the week or we'll think about putting it back on the market
*getting a bigger mortgage, paying extra stamp duty and then having to claim it back, not doing our kitchen extension this year

Who is passing the messages on to them? Or do you have direct contact?

That’s frustrating, Chicky. How can they just not reply? People are so weird.

We finally got they keys at 2.30 after a horrible couple of hours where our solicitor told us HSBC had messed up and not released the mortgage money The solicitor was doing the conveyancing for them too and said they usually release the funds the day before so I’m not sure why it wasn’t picked up. Probably the same reason they sent me an updated completion statement the day before showing we still needed to transfer £75.40. Despite us sending the full balance of the completion statement they sent last week!
Anyway I can’t believe I’m finally waking up in this house! Luckily I still love it

Well done emmap! It must feel slightly surreal. Have fun unboxing - how long have your things been in storage for?
It's good to read that so many are moving on and getting sorted. We're still struggling to find somewhere. There's very little coming on the market full stop, let alone in our budget. We viewed one property last week, which was okay, but no outside space (they'd build a workshop across the whole yard). We're viewing one this week, but so are a zillion others so who knows if we even make it inside. 2 viewings were cancelled last week as the houses had gone under offer.
