Our solicitor has now been in touch to say they've now received confirmation that the new build has been signed off. So I'm really hoping hear something today. It's exhausting.
Marth - hope you hear something soon as well.

So we're here till next Friday now. After a phone-call from the solicitors completion was all set for this afternoon. Then it turns out apparently that our solicitors hadn't told our buyer's solicitors about the completion date so his mortgage money wasn't in place for the exchange. So Mr Speedy was rapidly cancelling and re-booking everything this afternoon. Then collecting Rufus back from the cattery.

Oh my god! They had ONE job! How can it be possible that the entire property buying system can end up resting on the competence of some old duffer sitting behind a dusty desk?! Sweeping hyperbole, I know. But still.

I’m sorry it’s all so shit, Speedy. It’s a dreadful system.

I know we're only a chain of three. Also they all seem to rely just on e-mail so they never think of ringing and actually speaking to each other. Our poor seller has moved everything into his new build apart from a bed , sofa and a microwave.

Had a lovely Chinese takeaway night.
Our solicitors were trying to get in touch with our buyers solicitors yesterday but couldn't. Probably because they were busy with completions so hopefully Monday. Now they're talking about locking down the whole country I'll be furious with our solicitors if our move can't go ahead Friday.

That's good to know. Assuming all goes well health wise, week commencing 9th November we should be able to get cracking.

Good news!

I have no idea how this may affect my moving. I'm not feeling joy.

We're still trying not to unpack too much. Though Mr Speedy has caved in this morning and unpacked his playstation. He did manage to make a poached egg in a mug this morning though. We've just got a few bits of cutlery out, some enamel bowls/plates, mugs and a tumbler each.

Popping up the estate agents tonight as they need a copy of my passport. When we put the house on the market mine had expired so they used other forms of ID. Even though we weren't likely to be going anywhere I renewed my passport just in case it was needed for the house sale.
Our solicitors and our buyers solicitors are now talking to each other. Honestly it's like running a solicitors dating agency trying to get them to talk to each other.

That's good, Speedy. All crossed for this week!

My vendors have said that it's not their preferred option but they would be prepared to vacate if needed. That's good news, even though they might not be able to look for 4 weeks now. Anyway so we are going to try to move forward with searches. I've not heard yet if my buyers ahve their mortgage or anything. Complete radio silence, because I imagine there is nothing to report.

I've got a badly damaged window sill I'm going to try and get repaired during lockdown. I'll then paint all my window sills, just to feel more confident about my place, in case it needs to go back on.
