I love the table, the wood is just so beautiful. And I'm SO impressed you fitted the lamp!

There is no way I would attempt to fit a lamp myself, so I am well impressed. the whole room looks so inviting, Heebie!

That looks so lovely. It must be a nice place to eat dinner and drink wine

That looks so lovely and cosy Heebs.
I have just ordered new lights for the hallway downstairs, I have spent over a week looking for something that exists only in my head and have sacked it all off and gone for these as I think chrome rather than black will make it easier to tie in with the upstairs lights.
They needed to be semi flush as there’s ceiling roses there which need to work with the lights. I really want a massive cascading one at the top of the stairs but I haven’t found THE ONE yet.

I need to think about lighting for the new place and I find it really painful. I might just dispense with overhead lights altogether and go with lamps as I find those easy to buy.
Your room does look lovely, Heebs. I bought a G Plan sideboard last week. I'll show you some pictures when it's delivered. I don't know where I'm going to put it until I move but it was too good a deal to pass up. Likewise the two sofas and a footstool. My flat is going to look like a second hand furniture shop for a while!
I also got this guy at the weekend

I've just ordered one of these. It's the first bin store/cover I've come across that I like. It comes with a planter across the top, and they recommend nectar rich flowering plants to support butterflies, bees and the like. You can get planters for the sides too, but we don't have the extra space needed so will stick with the slats (which we'll probably stain a dark grey).

That's a really nice bin store! Mr Cos is busy building me one from pallets but he's been in progress for 6 weeks or so now...

Definitely better looking than the one P has done! He’s already built a sloped roof otherwise I’d be stealing the planter idea.

We are incapable of building anything, so I'm very impressed at anyone who can!

Re: Ideal Homes- Show Us Your New Purchases!
I was dropping off some stuff at a big charity shop yesterday, and I spotted four of these brandy glasses for £1 each (keys for scale).
They are so pleasing in the hand that I had to have them, and was happy with my purchase anyway, but even happier when after I'd washed them, J spotted a mark on the base, looked it up and they're part of the holmegaard princess bubble range, made in 1972, and whilst prices online vary, they're definitely more than a quid a pop!
Nobody else will get to wash them up but me
