They really are ridiculously fugly. I had those exact ones in my old house after searching the Internet endlessly.

Those are nice nine. Bathroom lights are mostly horrid! We ended up with little downlights in the ceiling, and VERY spendy wall lights which thankfully I love.

There’s a gap in the market. Maybe I should start a business specialising in tasteful bathroom lights.

You are so right! Bathroom lights are horrible. I badly need a new one but cant find one I like (that I can afford).

I feel this way about TV stands also. I built shelving for my TV in the end as I hated everything (I could afford).

Tv stands and bathroom lights are amongst the most depressing household purchases. No wonder loads of people go for wall mounted.

We have recessed spotlights in all the bathrooms. It’s the only thing I could stand to think about when we were doing them.

I went vintage for my TV stand (like most of my furniture).

That, or having something built in, are definitely the best option for me.

We had to have one made to measure, because we could not find one in the right width for love nor money. They were all 10 cm too wide. It took fucking ages to arrive, but I’m so glad we did because although I look at it every day, I barely even see it.

I don't know if anybody remembers me posting this a couple of years ago. I saw the original in an exhibition in 2018 (I think?), and I absolutely loved it, but I couldn't find out how to get a print of it or anything. Anyhow, I googled it again last Friday, and found that the artist (Ros Burgin) has made 95 of them with gold leaf, and 95 with palladium leaf (silvery), and I tracked down a gallery in Barnes that would sell me one of the gold ones. I'm so excited!

It was expensive (for me) and I know it's not a great time for the economy right now so I am a bit hesitant to post, but we've had a blank space in the hall for 7 years just waiting for the right thing to go in it, and it looks as though it will fit perfectly. Also we've had two holidays cancelled now, so the refund will more than cover this, and hopefully restore some much-needed cheer.

The gallery owner has offered to drive it up to me today (it's quite big). I think she's pleased to have the custom.

I really love that. I don't think it's ever a bad time to buy things you love and find beautiful (presuming you can eat and not go into debt and stuff!).

Ella that is absolutely beautiful! :hbeat: If it was my stretch of the river I would want to buy it too :)).

I bought an original painting a few years ago and it’s one of my favourite things in the house, I agree with smal that it’s always a good time to buy something you really love.

I know you don’t often do interior shots, but will you please show us in situ? It’s beautiful.

It’s beautiful. Spending is helping the economy :enabler:
It’s like a normal midlife crisis only with more chandeliers and foreign languages.
