Aww :)).

Thank you, all. It's here now. Pip, I'll try to get a picture, but it's probably going in the entrance hall, and it's quite narrow, so it's hard to step back enough to get a photo in there, if you see what I mean. Also it might have to be tomorrow because the light has gone from that side of the building now. I can't believe it's mine*.

* I mean ours, sure :look:.

It’s so lovely when you tick something off the Life Completion list. The print I got was on mine (I’d still love an original one day).

That's lovely and if it makes you feel that way then you know it's the ideal purchase.

Gorgeous, Ella. I definitely think art that you’ll enjoy for years and years is a worthwhile purchase.

I felt like that about that sandstone carved thing I bought in the place in Chiswick. Most days at some point I'll look at it and feel pleased I got it all over again.

I feel like that about the first piece of “expensive” art that I bought - in reality it was only about £350 - which was a present to myself on my way home from an interview which went really well and in fact generated what ended up being 6 years of contract work for me.

It’s a giclée print and it gives me that same sense of peace as Pip’s, here it is in situ in the dining room. Sorry for the few little reflections you can see of me and my fridge!

It’s our 9th anniversary next week, so pottery and we had planned to visit the pottery place to make a token gift. It’s closed though so as we discovered you can spend club card points at Denby, we’ve treated ourselves to some pasta bowls and serving bowls.

(Plus new frying pans, baking trays and a potato ricer, because it’s a 50p to £1.50 conversion rate and we’d built up quite a bit. )

New tableware here too. After humming and hawing about Denby stuff as well, we decided to get these bowls, plates and side plates instead which were on offer in the Garden Centre. I threw out all our plates that have chips on them and had the grand total of three that didn't match. I just hope these are as durable as they look. The Oslo range.

That's beautiful Ella, I love its simplicity.

My dresser was mine. It's too big, really, for our current house but I can't bring myself to replace it with something smaller. It's not even all that exciting, but I love it and it's so handy for storage.

I bought a framed poster which arrived today. It's David Hockney's Arrival of Spring, and I've been thinking of getting it ever since I saw the original, which is MASSIVE! Fortunately the framed poster is a more normal size (although not small).
