Ideal Homes- Show Us Your New Purchases!

Post by smalex »

The original thread has been locked, so here's a new one!

I bought this rug last night (online):

for our living room. Its pretty neutral with a light blue sofa, so I'm hoping also to paint the (large) chimney breast with a greeny colour, maybe one of these F&B ones:

Just to give it all a bit of a brighten up.

I really like that last colour Smal.

I am poised to buy this outdoor furniture since we have a much larger covered area outside now (MrE built a pergola when on paternity leave).

I like any of those greens smal. They go really well with the rug.

And I like the furniture too, Est. I wish we had enough nice weather to get outdoor furniture!

We've just ordered a new bed and mattress (super king!). I'm all in a panic about the mattress now though as I've read some rubbish reviews online but we'll just have to see how we get on with it.

Thanks. We've been looking for something that will match our table and chairs (dark metal with a slate-type table top) but with not too many cushions as the dogs like to chomp them. This seems to fit the bill and is pretty comfortable.

JL still haven't delivered my coffee machine, milk jug and cappuccino glasses to store. :grump:

I cancelled the machine and have been offered £10 for the inconvenience, but am waiting on the rest.

I have bought these for J's (and eventually TD's) room. MattressMan were supposed to deliver the mattresses yesterday; P stayed in all day with fractious children and they didn't turn up. They can damn well give me a timed delivery when they reschedule or I'm going to Ikea :grump:.

That's infuriating Lora and Wendy. I thought good customer service was why people bought from JL!

I'm tempted to get this cushion for our wicker armchair in the living room now: http://www.next.co.uk/x531104s2" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; or this one http://www.next.co.uk/x531104s17" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; or both! :muststopspending:

I like both of those, smal, and your rug.

I'd love some outdoor furniture like that. We have a big patio and it would be great to have something comfy.

Not sure it would work in the uk though?

I also want some furniture for under youngers cabin bed.

I like the two darker greens Smal, they'd be lovely and relaxing in a sitting room.

I had forgotten until S found a huge box on the doorstep this morning, but I ordered a few things in the Anthropologie sale on Boxing Day. The descriptions on the desk set were very very weird (rather than sizes or descriptions they were listed as black, carbon or oxford :? ) but I took a chance because they were so cheap with an extra 25% off sale prices and you can return to store easily here. They are gorgeous though. I need a desk now

And a dotty pillowcase for G. S thinks I'm crazy for just getting a pillowcase and not a set but I thought it would be too much as a set. I want to get a striped navy and white duvet cover to go with it.

I have failed to take a photo of the bargain mirror because we can't get it on the wall after two attempts! Stupid American walls.

Red dotty and navy will look lovely.
American walls all tend to be stud walls. I only knew this after needing to affix kitchen cupboards to plasterboard and googled aplenty.

I've bought some nice tile coasters in the G&G sale.

I love the rug, and the last green.

The Bf bought some fancy coffee grinder, my input was to demand it in red to go with the kettle.

I might get this sofa as our current one is getting squishier and squishier and isn't the best shape for the room

But I like to sit on sofas before I buy them and it's in Manchester :lg: the vague plan is to do a trip over and make a weekend of it. It's the only sofa I like on the whole Internet. Helpful

I really like that. What company is it?

Jet, your trolley looks good. We have a kitchen island trolley thing and it is about the most useful thing ever.
