I mean, I can see the idea of keeping the holding cell because it's a former copshop, but just because you can do a thing doesn't mean you should.
It’s like a normal midlife crisis only with more chandeliers and foreign languages.

I think stuff like that can be really hard to remove. We had an office that had once been a bank and we had to keep the enormous safe because it would have been too expensive to remove it.

Very unusual! Is that the bathroom door off of the cell? Perhaps it would make a good crook book nook.

It's horrible

Couldn't they cover the bars with panels or lath and plaster, and make it a walk-in cupboard/library/pantry or something? It's hard to tell from the photos what would work best, but that gives me serial killer vibes.

I saw that one Twitter. You would just have to make it an actual feature. Maybe put some fairy lights through the bars?

Ita horrible. Imagine all the distressed and fucked up people held in that over the years. They could have removed the bars even if they had to keep the frame.

That is such a horrible flat. Even if it didn't have the cell in it! Just those two windows for that massive room? It's going to be so gloomy. And the ubiquitous wall-wall grey palette doesn't help.

That makes me think of You (the tv series, not...you). That's a dream flat for some twisted bastard isn't it? Ugh.

I think you're all missing the point that it's definitely some sort of fetish thing. Yes, it used to be a police station, but anyone normal would have removed or clad it or something.

I knew a bloke once who had a bed made out of scaffolding that had pulleys all over it. 😐

It's the sort of thing that I can see doing well as a novelty AirBnB, but not as a home. Plus yes, they've gone full in on the prison aesthetic!

Yes. But he was gay, if that's what you're asking. :))

 I guess a totally normal cat statue that's been distorted almost as much as the wardrobe doors in the main bedroom :))

The kitchen looks like a quality rendering from salesroom software!

I think it's just a rotund porcelain cat ornament and the perspective/probably wide angle lens shot has done a number on it. :))

:))

There's also some sort of deathtrap sitting on the stairs, which I find far more bizarre.
