It’s incredible and I love it, but I couldn’t live there with that decor.

I am going to bet a tenner that she has inflated the price based on her own interpretation of its worth to her 'collectors' and that that is the problem in selling.

Yes, I agree. If it was in the right price bracket someone wouldve bought it by now and got the decorators in straight away. Lydney is quite a deprived area, you can buy a nice big 4bed modern detached house in a good state for about 250k (or you could last time I looked) so £500k is quite a lot for that area.

I've just looked and you can get some pretty spectacular 4 or 5 beds, in land, in very good condition for 450-500. So yeah. She wants to reduce the price by 100k at least.

Another case of agents telling the client what they want to hear, then saying "Oh yes, the price is much too high" when challenged by someone else on why it's not selling.

"elegantly styled" where?

So well styled they couldn't manage to shut the cupboard or drawer in the kitchen they've crammed in the living room

And "oblique views of the sea" and no photo of said view is setting my spidey senses off :puzz:

Oh, that’s a very specific style isn’t it? Wouldn’t you want to neutralise it before putting it on the market? It’s hardly got broad appeal (and is horrible)

Is that a pair of red buckled shoes in the bathroom/shower? That infinity mirror would do my head in. I really wish there was a picture of the current owners too, so I can judge fully.

Oh yes, I'd love to see the current owners! I'd also like to see the house when it is (inevitably) redecorated as it looks like it has some nice features, but I just can't see past the decor.

And I'd probably pass out in the shower thanks to that mirror.

You have to wonder what niche Airbnb market they're aiming for there. I suspect not your usual Farrow and Ball crowd.

I bet there was a metric tonne of bondage kit taken off that bedframe before the photos. Its' no wonder they forgot to shut the drawers. :))
