Fingers crossed for you both.
It looks as though the council are doing a buyback on our house. Just waiting to see what their offer is like, and hoping it works out so we can avoid all the usual hassle of selling.

If the date we have been given happens it will have been 10 weeks from offering to completing (for the purchase). Our sale might take a little longer as we are three weeks in and the survey is only happening tomorrow.
I chivvied at one point which I think helped but honestly, just do your fricking job!

Good luck with the buyback, Smun
Ten weeks sounds reasonable but sixteen weeks for a no-chain, cash buyer is just ridiculous.
J’s uncle’s (estate) property completes today after about 16 weeks and that’s with a first time buyer. The conveyancer we used has been dreadful though and we won’t be using them in our own sale or purchase.
Less than 24 hours since our went live and we have seven viewings already!

Edith, that's brilliant!
I signed the contract yesterday and I'm going to the bank today to transfer funds . Any fuck ups and they can take responsibility!
Hopefully exchange Monday/Tuesday with completion on Thursday
Honestly, my nerves are shot and how C has put up with me is nothing short of heroic!

Exchange is now Wednesday with completion on Thursday.
Because we don't need to move in on Thursday, we've agreed they can have a few more hours to move (they have so much stuff and young children) and they agreed to leave a nearly new massive fridge freezer so we will pick the keys up on Friday morning

That’s brilliant, Brambs. And very civilised.
for a smooth week.
We’ve got our tenth viewing booked in for later this afternoon and then only one more booked but that’s not until next Saturday. We’ve had one offer but it’s too low and from a couple who haven’t got theirs on the market yet. According to the agent’s feedback, out of the other eight who already saw it, three aren’t interested and the other five are either still discussing it or waiting until their houses sell before they make an offer. So nothing concrete but it’s encouraging.
