Oh, hurrah! I read the previous page (as it turns out, two pages back) and was all ready to scare up a mob with pitchforks. Congrats on exchanging and I hope everything goes smoooooooothly from now on.

My reaction was quite similar to smal’s, I had to step away for a bit I was thinking your solicitor or whoever it was pushing for Wednesday exchange had secretly known something and I couldn’t cope even vicariously :sensitive: I am so pleased for you that it has finally happened.
And emma too, what a mill you’ve both been through and now actual floodlights at the end of the tunnel at last!

Removals booked. I’m using one that uses reusable eco crates. I spoke to four other companies after that first one, all of whom insisted on packing the afternoon before, thank god. The variation on price was ridiculous — funnily enough I decided not to pay £1,500 to move the contents of a one-bed flat (eight pieces of furniture; white goods staying put).
This is actually happening!

Congrats Nine. You must be so relieved.
I think I'm about to join this thread again but this time it's our place we're probably selling. One of the guys who installed our bathroom and central heating has just put his on the market again after being messed around a few years ago. He's already been in touch with Mr Speedy. It seems to be pretty much what we're after and in the area we want to move to. Mr Speedy is going to pop round to have a quick look today (in-between decorating& our valuer coming round this afternoon). I was rather hoping to have a good clear-out and finish and decorating before doing anything but Mr Speedy is going speedy!
We think ours will go quickly as it's a two bed near the hospital and buy to letters love them.

Good luck, Speedy!
I just wrote an handover email to the other leaseholders in the building and that was almost as exciting as exchanging I never again need to give one solitary shit about the maintenance of this stupid building.

Mr Speedy's had a look at the house and it's like a reverse Tardis being smaller on the inside. The kitchen is the same size as ours , bathroom was even smaller and didn't have a full size bath. It looked really nice but just too small. Lounge narrowed at the end so although that was bigger there wasn't really more useable space. Stairs gave Mr Speedy the shivers as there was just a handrail on the non-wall side.

Re: House Buying Is More Stressful Than Divorce, Death or Bankruptcy
We officially put our house on the market on Tuesday - we had the agent around this morning with seven viewings booked in. He said a few seemed very interested but we will see if any move to actually putting in an offer.
My house has never been so clean. Half the clutter is currently in my car, hidden from sight.

Good luck Starry. Don't think our car is big enough to hide half our clutter!
We've had ours valued - value is slightly better than we thought it would be. Apparently it's well presented - this was with the main bedroom in total upheaval as Mr Speedy decided to get the valuation done in the middle of decorating! We haven't put it on the market yet as our type of house tends to go very on quickly on our estate so want to get the house sorted as much as possible. Even though once it does get sold all the legal stuff will take ages.
So visit to the tip & charity shop today.
