Congratulations Tsu and Nince! Exciting! I like that Blue, Tsu.

I hope you hear back soon, Chicky.

I hope you and S reach a consensus soon, Starry. Or that you get a massive offer immediately that renders the conversation unnecessary. :look:

We have just exchanged! :perky: Moving next Friday.

Only really since Tuesday which looks a bit ridiculous when I type it, but we’re trying to arrange an early April moving date and don’t yet know if they can do that so they don’t really have time to go AWOL. Plus they should have had the survey back this week too so we’re keen to know how it went. Mainly I’m just panicking though :fish:

Hurrah cluefree!!

And starry I hope what Cluef says comes true too :) what position are your offerers in? If they are chain free then that’s worth a bit of a comedown on price IMHO.

It really starts to mess with your head, delays like that so I understand the panic.

Great news on this thread everyone. :perky:

That was quick! (Or mine was just insanely slow  ) Congratulations! What happened with the damp survey in the end?

So the viewing this morning went well. There were 14 separate viewers. We’ve had another offer - still short of what we need but the buyer asked what it would take to get the house off the market. So the agent will speak to them on Monday and give them a figure.

We went back to see the house we put an offer on. I still like it, although after losing the first house I don’t think I’ll ever be fully all in on a house. It ticks a lot of the right boxes for us in terms of distance from schools and the space. We should know next week about it.

How does the Irish system work, Starry? Hope you get the figure you need on Monday.

That sounds very positive, Starry!

I have been sorting out the flat ready for the packers today :weewee: I have replaced my very expensive cupboard knobs with some horrible gold ones, as revenge for what the buyer did to me on the day of exchange. The freezer has also had a sort out and I've cleared my tupperware cupboard. :l:

I think it might be fairly similar to the UK system. Once we accept an offer, they’ll move to contracts and deposits. But until the contact is signed, the house usually stays on the market. I think this couple have been burned by losing a few houses to higher bidders and they are renting at the moment. If they offered what we needed we would take the house off the market; I’m already looking forward to an end to viewings.

Nine :weewee: Nearly there!

Exciting, Starry! I hope they bosh you a good offer.

It was quick, Nince! The damp survey showed nothing troublesome so we’ve not knocked any money off the price and we’re moving on Friday. Into what looks like a tiny nursing home from the 70s. It’s a 1950 semi and needs fully extending and renovating so we’ll be very busy. And poor. :perky:

:dotty:

I am in the process of sort of excruciatingly pre-packing for the packers, ie moving similar things near each other so I don't lose everything, chucking some stuff out, and keeping precious stuff separate to take in the car.

Well, it would be more painful if I were actually doing it, rather than hiding in a playtent and eating a chocolate hobnob. :look:
