The estate agent was telling us about a place down the road that had had 67 viewings :faint: the interior must be minging :)) getting people through the door shouldn’t be an issue anyway, we had about 14 people last time and two offers. It’s the pulling out when they find we’re underpinned that is the issue :ruby:

That's brilliant. Fingers crossed it goes through fine from now. It *would* be nice to have a lovely new year spate of successful house buying and selling.

Yeah, well done mince! :))

I spent ages looking at the new house photos online yesterday now it’s really real :hbeat: It’s so weird to be spending so much money and I’ve only been in it twice, for about 15 mins in total, last July! :george:

It’s so exciting for you Emma!

How strange that my previous buyer had a survey so terrible she had to pull out (yet wouldn’t share it or make any further investigations), but my current one said it was absolutely fine. It’s almost as if she was making it up.

I was being sarcastic :)) I’m fairly sure she was laying it on thick. She indicated the roof would face certain collapse if we didn’t spend £30,000 on it before Xmas.

The roof did not collapse.

You should send her daily photos of your still upright roof, Nine :))

Emma it's crazy really. We bought after one 10 minute viewing. I've spent longer choosing breakfast cereal.

The family who bought our last house spent less than that looking around and didn't even go into the garden. I kept expecting them to revisit, but no. It's total craziness.

Congratulations Emma and mince! It nice to hear good news.

We're still in limbo. The boundary issues are slowly being resolved as much as they can. I suspect, looking at old plans, that the neighbours sold part of their garden to the property at some point in the last 150 years nd it was never legally recognized. The boundary hedges/walls are very well established, but the paperwork doesn't match. It's with the land registry to sort at the mo.

We're viewing other houses, but there's been very little in our price range that isn't 2 beds and derelict. The joys of living in a tourist spot with a high student population.

I am tentatively joining in here. We saw a house we mostly loved but someone else has just had an offer accepted on it. So back to the drawing board.

In the meantime, we are getting our house ready to sell.

Thanks Beatrix. We are looking locally but closer to my parents and E’s school. At the moment we are only a 10-15 minute drive away without traffic, but one accident on the motorway and it’s an hour. Where we are looking is a 20 minute walk away, so I could cut out the drive in the morning.

We just need more space. I love where we live and it’s really quiet but there’s no real room to extend.

That's disappointing, Starry. Are things selling quickly in your area?

A house has come on today which pretty much ticks most of our boxes, but despite ringing within a couple of hours of it going on the market, we can't get an appointment to view it. They're full. It's so frustrating.

That is crazy, Beena! I really hope you find somewhere or the land ownership issues with the house get ironed out. My BIL is having similar issues and it's going so slowly. Is your rental fine to stay in while you find somewhere?

Good luck Starry!
