How is everyone's wildlife doing in this shit Spring?

It's quite active over here. Blue tits nesting in the roof again, nuthatches in next door's roof wall, and a pair of blackbirds have set up shop in the camellia right by the kitchen window. Unfortunately it's also right on the path leading to the front door so I'm not sure they'll stay there long. It does explain the more-than-usually possessive squawking and low fly-past behaviour of the male, plus him bullying other birds at the fatball feeder.

The goldfinches have taken a liking to my forget-me-nots as they've started running to seed, which is very sweet. There are quite a few small squirrels and a couple of mice.

I've gone back to removing the fatball feeder overnight as the magpies are raiding it to nothing the early morning again.

AND. Very much Not My Garden but the local peregrine brood was ringed yesterday and the photo posted on Twitter is just

They’re brilliant! “Why you wake us up, arseholes?”

The feeder is busy as usual. Hopefully we’ll see some babies visiting soon. Whatever fat balls I bought last time have seeded like absolute mofos though!
