The foundations are dug, and the inital blockwork is done, the old porch has been knocked down and the timber arrived on Friday for the frame which they start tomorrow. I also found this picture on my laptop of the initial plans of the kitchen - I asked them to swap the sink and cooker round so the hob is facing out towards the dining room but it gives you an idea.

Before & after - not so much after as part way through - basically the porch is gone in the second :))

It looks amazing!

We got our planning permission granted last week. Waiting on some quotes now with a view to starting in early spring. We've been told we will have to move out which I really wanted to avoid.

Great news about planning permission Jupiter, but what a pain about having to move out !

The foundations were dug out and the blockwork done in nice weather, after this weekend's rain, there are many, many puddles now. I said to J all that is missing is Kevin McCloud looking balefully into the camera, and me pregnant with twins

You also should have either multiple fragile small pets, or one enormous dog.

Exciting!

It'll look fantastic when it's all done!

I remember when most if our block work was done and the builders were sorting out the drainage...that was a deep, dark time.
