I love the bathroom celebrations! :love2: we hopefully will do something about our main bathroom next year as it is horrible and has carpet in it :vom:

We have just finished the hall, stairs and landing which has been a beast of a task (for A  )

This was the before downstairs (another beige party)

And this is the downstairs now: new front door, new lights, understair storage, carpet and the staircase painted black, which took 974 coats :ruby: I do want to get an old-school radiator in the hallway to suit the house but I am a bit torn on colour at the moment (I don’t know whether black is too much?)

And this is upstairs before (beige, beige, beige)

And this is the after. That chandelier was the source of some tense discussion last weekend as it weighs a ton and involved A bolstering it through the loft alongside lots of dodgy balancing on makeshift scaffolding

Only thing outstanding now is that I want to paint all the doors black and change the handles to chrome, but that’ll be a massive job for next year. I also want something nice art wise on the wall going down the stairs but I’m undecided yet.

It took me multiple goes :look: as I also thought I could judge that and the spacing by eye (turns out I can’t, who knew?! :mog: )

That looks like such an improvement. What a dismal state it was before! I have an old fashioned coppery-bronze radiator in our bedroom, it's beautiful, would look nice instead of black and inject some metallic colour but still be subtle.

It looks lovely of course :))

Are you keeping the tiled floor downstairs? I don’t mean this rudely, just pure nosiness

At the moment, yes - it’s throughout all the rooms downstairs apart from the main living room and it’s got underfloor heating throughout too so whilst I don’t love it and definitely wouldn’t have chosen it  I can appreciate that the cost to rip up and replace would probably be astronomical and seems quite wasteful.

On the plus side it’s so low maintenance and forgiving in terms of cleaning  I definitely do not miss the gloss tiles we had at our old house

That looks fabulous, Pov. I especially love the wallpaper. You have such a good eye for design, I’m envious.

I’d leave it down too then in that case. The underfloor heating must be lovely :))

I love that wallpaper Pov, and those pictures look amazing, must have taken ages to get them all up and straight, but so worth it.

Current state of bathroom over the weekend, fitter is coming back on Monday/Tuesday to finish off, but we have a working toilet and hot water in there, so we are moving back in tomorrow.

Realise it all looks a bit grey/greige, but we are thinking of moving in a year or two, so wanted something quite inoffensive and neutral.

My refurb has begun! :disco: ...in that I have signed a contract and started choosing tiles for the patio. :weewee: My builder is keen to get some materials ordered now before the price hikes in the New Year. It's actually happening and come the end of May I should have a fresh new house!

Oh exciting, Nine. Be sure to take lots of before and after pics!

Speaking of which, we finally got our new front door fitted last week. We also replaced the window beside it, as they matched. The new one is the black one. Ignore the horrible lights they're going soon :fc:
