I highly recommend following Michelle Ogundehin on Instagram. She's done some excellent work on simple effective cleaning products, mainly bicarb and vinegar to be fair. I use bicarb to clean my oven, it's bloody brilliant but my god it's hard to remove all traces after!

I pre-soak, Ken.

Ah thanks. I was hoping for the less effortful solution!

I think you can just bung it in. Sodium percarbonate is the main ingredient in things like Oxy bleach which just goes in the machine. You might want to just use Oxy though :))

Ah, I found this online:

For a large load, add 4 tbsps. For a front loading washer, dissolve the powder in a little hot water and then add to the detergent water.

Oh excellent! Shoving something in is more my attitude to cleaning. ;)

I don't know if this is helpful (I guess it depends on what you're soaking, for me it's flannels, dischloths and tea-towels) but what I do is fill a lidded bucket with water and the percarbonate and then add the things I want to pre-soak to the bucket as I go. When I have a good amount, I chuck all of that into the machine, usually with some towels, add some detergent and then wash as normal.

Thanks, I used to do that but got out of the habit as it felt like it was a bit of a pain, and also it's tricky to find somewhere to put it out of the way!

Mrs Meyers is now stocked by Ocado!!! I’d noticed that the lemon verbena dish soap and spray were cheap on Amazon Prime recently too but Ocado have a bigger range. Not my favourite scents (Iowa pine and rosemary are my favourites) but I’ve bought all the hand soaps and more lemon verbena washing up liquid because they’re on offer.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen (or heard of) the Iowa Pine scent! I still miss the rhubarb range.

OMG! I'm so happy about this. The lemon verbena is my favourite so I'm delighted.

I was so, so happy when I saw them this morning. I might have shed a happy tear!

Iowa Pine is one of their their limited edition holiday scents. They usually do a peppermint and also an orange clove range too.

The Mrs Meyers arrived and I've sniffed them all. I LOVE the peony scent which I hadn't tried before.

I shall look out for the peony. I have some bluebell hand soap on the go, and everyone hates it. It's weirdly gingery.

I was so close to ordering the bluebell soap for $$$ at a low point earlier in the year so I'm glad to find know it wouldn't have been worth it.

The peony is so lovely! I don't think I'd have bought the peony if you hadn't mentione it, emma so thank you!
