I'd love to see your hanging baskets, Pov. I've just bought a massive old hay feeder from Facebook Marketplace that I intend to fill with plants and I could use some inspiration.

I am bad at hanging baskets, I think I always pick the wrong plants and the balance of drape and upright is all wrong and I get gaps.

I've just rearranged the greenhouse, the tomatoes are in the floor, or in medium pots prior to upgrade to big pots. I've got backups in case of Slug attack. I will take photos once I get off my arse.

They are a bit rubbish at the moment, as they've not taken off yet but A is very good at feeding/watering them so they usually end up pretty decent. Just a mix of trailing lobelia and fuchsia, and some petunia/marigolds in the middle.

So our paw paw has started to flower and according to my internet and YouTube research, it looks like we have a female tree which is good news (we had no idea what it was when MrE’s friend gave it to us). Hopefully someone in the ‘hood has a male tree and can pollinate her and we might get some fruit.

You could hunt around and turn up with some q tips and acquire some pollen!

This used to be covered with a precarious collection of slabs and pallets. And we'd have to remove it all to drop the pump in.
There's a lil hatch in the centre with a handle, so we can just open that and lower the pump in.

Its 8.5m by 31m, so about 260 square metres. Which is just over a traditionally sized full allotment.

What have I done, who needs spare time?

There are two sites in my local town, and this one is the one that is v popular. I think the soil is better, everyone nodded sagely when I said I was on the list for this patch.

That's massive!

It's so big MumBaa, the allotment wizard, has judged this to be in a good state. Her site had some which were waist high with evil marestail and brambles, so I have done v well according to her. My asparagus is in good shape too. I am thrilled by this.

Asparagus takes years rk be properly viable as well so you are so lucky! My mum's is on year 3 and she's had a decent haul this year. It looks better than some states I've seen, it's only spring growth rather than years of bramble

I will take a picture tomorrow but our lawn is finally looking great post scare pig .lol: genuinely can’t tell now it was ever fenced off and two different heights so A has done a great job.

Currently on fencing/gating off down one side of the house as it’s definitely creating a wind tunnel so A is trying to get that sorted and then we are going to add more twinkly lights and stuff.

I have peonies! (In 4 clumps at various points in the garden, this one was the first to flower.)

Baa, the size of that plot gives me the actual fear - you are very brave.

Not gonna lie, feeling a bit daunted by the size of the allotment but! I have a day of work to cash in from a mate who just got an allotment, and The Bf is going to fix up my shed for me, and is thinking of getting a friend of his over to help me as a "improve his mental health by making him weed aggressively" exercise.
