I was using the Airfry function on the microwave yesterday, and something boiled over and airfried sauce to the glass plate at 230 degrees. I soaked it for an hour or so, but it was still glued on. Scrub Daddy and BTF saw it off in minutes, though. I was thinking of this thread as I did it.

Bar Keeper's Friend is really good and I use it on my sink too but don 't forget to take your rings off before you use it! :spin:

We were thinking of getting a microwave with Airfrying function for over the hob. My worry is that they're a nightmare to clean compared with a normal microwave. OK, with the right cleaning tools?

I used to use barkeepers friend to remove tea stains when we had a quartz kitchen countertop. It was magic.

No, they're fine to clean. Mine is a Sage one, and I'm pleased with it. It has an oven function too, and I use it a lot. The only issue is that the oven and AF preheat for three minutes on microwave, so if you don't want the food to microwave (in case it goes soggy, for instance) there is a bit of faffing about, but they are much faster than the actual oven, and do excellent roasted veg. They have to preheat even when hot, so if you've oven cooked something and the cavity is hot, and then want to AF a side or whatever it still goes through the reheating process.
